Leading the way in Central Southland!

The fabulous team at C.S.R.P have identified many road safety issues at their school, and as one strategy to help create a deeper understanding around them, they have established a Student Road Safety Council.
This term, James, Johnathon, Hayden, Harriet, Tayla and Bonnie have been selected to be the leaders of this strategy. As leaders they will focus on safe and responsible passenger messages for term 3. In a brainstorming session, the students were able to identify the area they were most concerned about, and as most students travel to school either on the bus or in cars-passenger seemed the most logical to begin with.
In term 4 the council will regroup, spreading the responsibility around the senior pupils, to develop understandings around being safe and responsible as riders.
As with the other councils in Southland, the team will lead assembly with a RoadSense message, and ensure these messages are repeated in the school newsletters and/or website. This really becomes a whole community learning opportunity.
